Parents/Guardians, Please be aware that Pertussis (Whooping cough) is going around in the Red Lake communities. Whooping cough is a respiratory infection. Whooping cough is highly contagious and is most harmful to babies. If your child is feeling sick or has the following symptoms, (fever, cough, runny nose, dry or sore throat, loud coughing that ends with a “whooping sound”), please call your provider or bring them to the walk-in clinic. Whooping Cough is VERY contagious. We do not want anyone who is sick passing it along to others while in school. Once a child has been given the proper medication, they may return to school after 48 hours. If you would like to learn more about this very contagious condition, please visit this website: https://familydoctor.org/condition/whooping-cough/ Miigwech.
