Due to continued weather forecasts, calling for blizzard warnings all day tomorrow with heavy snow, driven by high winds, Red Lake Schools will need to go into e-learning for a second day. No in-person learning will take place tomorrow.

Red Lake Schools and busses will run two hours late tomorrow morning. We will use those two hours to decide about the rest of the day and whether we will have school in person or have an E-Learning Day. Miigwech!
All afterschool activities today, December 13th, are cancelled due to impending weather.

At the most recent schoolboard meeting, there was a change made to the master schoolboard calendar to include an additional day off for students on December 9th, to allow for a full professional development day for our teachers and staff. All students will not have school on Friday, December 9, 2022.

The National Weather Service has issued a Blizzard Warning for NW Minnesota from 4:00 am tomorrow through Friday. Due to this impending blizzard with expected rain, ice, snow and wind, Red Lake Schools will NOT have in-person school tomorrow. Instead, we will be holding an E-Learning Day across the district. All students will receive online assignments or paper packets to complete for the learning day. Students are expected to complete their work and submit it by Monday of next week.
We are also postponing parent-teacher conferences that had been scheduled for Red Lake and Ponemah Elementary Schools tomorrow. We will announce a date in the future to reschedule those conferences.
As a reminder, there is no school on Friday in observance of Veterans Day.

The Scholastic Book Fair is coming to RLEC! Mark your calendars for November 7-9 from 8am-3pm and November 10 from 8am-7pm! It will be held in the RLEC Media Center.
In Ms. Fairbanks' class, students had two choices in Makerspace! One was the spider web bridge challenge. They were given 4 cups for pillars, tape, yarn, and 24 spiders. The task was to make a bridge to hold as many spiders as possible. Both groups figured out a way to hold all 24 spiders. Check out these photos shared from class!
Last week, our third graders got to experience a Wild Ricing demonstration and learn how to go through the process!

We sent home RLEC Targeted Services registration forms today (10/5/22) for Grades 1-5. Space is limited. First come, first serve. Starts October 24. If your child is interested in attending, please send in the completed registration form ASAP.

Bus # 2 will be about 45 mins late getting home today and 1 hour late on pick up on 9/21/22 due to bus driver shortage.
